The Very Best Chard in the Whole World!!!

This is chard that I grew in my garden. I have actually never really liked chard to much, in fact I planted this by mistake (I thought that it was beets). Anyways, I have found the best recipe for chard. Chard is now my absolute favorite vegetable. You have got to try this!!!!
1 large bunch of fresh Swiss chard
1 small clove garlic, sliced
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp water
Pinch of dried crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon butter
salt

Rinse out the Swiss chard leaves thoroughly. Roughly chop into inch-wide strips. Remove the toughest third of the stalk, discard.Heat a saucepan on a medium heat setting, add olive oil, a few small slices of garlic and the crushed red pepper. Sauté for about a minute. Add the chopped Swiss chard leaves. Cover. Check after about 5 minutes. If it looks dry, add a couple tablespoons of water. Flip the leaves over in the pan, so that what was on the bottom, is now on the top. Cover again. Check for doneness after another 5 minutes (remove a piece and taste it). Add salt to taste, and a small amount of butter. Remove the swiss chard to a serving dish.

We Love Grandma & Grandpa, and the Turtles!

We went to bring something to Grandma and Grandpa Manning's house a few days ago. When we pulled up Tate said, "Turtle House". I was planning on just dropping it off, but Tate wouldn't settle for not going in to see the turtles. It's always fun to see Grandma and Grandpa, and the turtles! Posted by Picasa

We have Grass!

Well, we have sod now! It is official as of today. Bryan took the day off to lay it. His Mother also came to help join the fun! It was really nice of her to help out. It looks like a completely different backyard. Different as in really good! Tate is going to enjoy having somewhere to run, and use up a little energy.

Tired Tate!

I put Tate down for a nap and then went in to check on him. I was kind of concerned when I couldn't find him anywhere! It ended up that he was in the closet with the closet door shut, fast asleep on top of some boxes. Posted by Picasa
