Some Funnies

1. We were visiting at Bryan's parents house and Tate was doing the usual... which is telling everyone about Grandma Margaret, how she has cancer, and how she is doing, (aka hinting for money) etc. When all of a sudden Tate turns to Sarah (Bryan's 15 year old sister) and whispers in her ear "She sees you when you're sleeping!"

Random? YES. That is so completely Tate!!! Ha/Ha.

2. Yesterday Tate was walking around the house making some really weird noises (he sort of sounded frustrated or something). I asked him what was wrong and he said, "I just can't get it out of my head... It's stuck in there and it won't leave..." I was a little confused as to what he was referring to, but before I could ask him about it he started saying (with a chant) "602-803-2096,
602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096" (Bryan's SUNKISS POOLS Phone Number) over and over and over again. He then walked over to the fridge where we used to have a truck magnet with Bryan's number on it, and he said "See I don't even need the magnet anymore... 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096, 602-803-2096"

Are these funny to you?

Maybe it's just because I'm his Mom, or maybe you had to have been there to hear his cute little voice! :)

Tater-Tot Spot Wordle

Have you heard of wordle collages? They are lots of fun! You can do it two different ways... Try putting in your blog URL first to see what your automatic wordle looks like. If that doesn't work very well (mine didn't because it only pulled words from my latest 3 posts or so) then you can try it the slower way. Go through your blog, find words that you see in your blog posts and type those words into Wordle (I just copied and pasted whole sentences to make it faster). It will then mix up those words for you and put them into a collage. Check it out HERE.

Earning $ for Grandma's Pills

Tate is CONTINUING to earn money for Grandma Margaret's cancer medicine. So far he's earned well over $100, probably close to $200.

$86-from selling pictures that he colored

$6-from picking up nuts on two different occasions from Grandma S. neighbors pecan tree

$5-from selling gumballs to family and friends from his gumball machine

$?-Lots of money from finding quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies around the house and saving it to give to Grandma Margaret. It's amazing to me how just a small amount of change (that we don't even miss) can add up so quickly!

And just for your information, Tate is upping his level of commitment in earning money for Grandma. He informed me earlier today that he wants to start going around from house to house selling his coloring pictures "starting with Ian's mom" he said. So, you better watch out cause Tate's "NOT going to stop until Grandma's better"!!!

All I can say is I've got one determined kid...

Obsessions

Tate has always had obsessions... When he was only a year old life revolved around clocks. He called them "Gocks" and would be sure to notice them hanging on the walls everywhere we went.

At age two life was all about candles "gaggles". He had his own little collection of small ones. He preferred them unlit, and would carry them around smelling them constantly. He would also line them up in a row and play "house" with them if you will.

When he was three his obsession was fans. He liked every type but especially the small hand held ones.

At age four life was about vacuums "gacooms". Every time we went to the store, he would request to go down the vacuum isle. He would always amaze me by naming the different brands of vacuums that were in the store. He would also go to family members houses, ask to see there vacuums and memorize who had what kind of vacuum (hoover, regina, bissel, dirt devil, dust buster, etc.)

Tate has continued to have obsessions throughout age five. He currently has many of them among which are shells. He has his own collection of them. He doesn't care what kind of shell it is or even if it's cracked or broken... If it's a shell it's a shell and he LOVES it!

Red Cardinal

After taking a picture a day for 365 days and posting them on a regular basis... It's kind of (I mean really) hard to stop! And the truth is that I haven't stopped-YET. I'm NOT promising a picture a day, but at the same time I don't want to lose all of those memories just because I didn't take the extra 5-10 minutes.

So here's a picture from day 1 of a beautiful red cardinal bird that visited our campsite.

Wanna See Something Cool?!?

This is EVERY DAY of the year 2009.

December 2009

Happy New Year!

We just got back from CAMPING. Yes, that's exactly the way we wanted to spent our last 2 days of 2009 & our first day of 2010!

Just our little family out in Burnt Corral Campground...
playing around with Mr. Tate as photographer (He's getting really good! Can you believe he took this first picture of Bryan and I?)

Drinking HOT chocolate (Santa even brought me the sugar free kind)

Looking for shells (what Tate wanted to be doing the ENTIRE time).

Then LOADING up his pockets with them until they were BLARGING (Tate's new word-he means bulging)

Taking them back to the campsite to count them all.

Skipping Rocks

Doing Dishes (can't escape that even when camping).

Loading & shooting the BB Gun.
And of course the loud scary one too!

Fishing on the last day of the year (before the license expires).

Or just playing with the worms (whichever is more fun)

Playing some good ole baseball

Roasting marshmallows on sticks (because we forgot the roasters)
And eating them... in smores of course

Climbing Trees

Hiking to see some ancient cliff dwellings
They were pretty awesome!

Stopping to check out the damn
And to take pictures of some funky looking cactus
then Mr. Tate had to stop and use the PAY PHONE because he thought that it was the coolest thing in the whole world. (He called Grandma)
Driving off into the beautiful AZ sunset.

I can hardly believe that 2009 is done and over. It's been an interesting year... Lots of ups and downs which are all documented here on the blog. Project 365 (my picture a day) has been fun and challenging at times, but definitely worth it. No, I'm not going to be continuing it this next year, but that doesn't mean the blogging will stop. It will most likely slow down a bit though...

Thank you for spending 2009 with me!!!
