I was thinking today about Cheese Crisps... We probably eat them 3-4 times a week on average (maybe more) and yet they still remain one of my favorite foods.
There's obviously different ways of making them.
There's obviously different ways of making them.
Here's how I make mine:
Butter the bottom of corn tortilla, place cheese on top. When the cheese is mostly melted, flip over so cheese is touching griddle-like so...
Remove cheese crisps from griddle and top with
fiesta sauce (cut up tomatoes, white onions, cilantro), fresh lime, and salsa.
I thought that everyone knew how to make cheese crisps until a friend came over one day and told me that she had never even had one before-EVER! I still can't believe it! Seriously, cheese crisps are a staple around here, we could happily live on them and nothing else if we had to.
What is your most common meal?
I have those plates!!
ReplyDeleteOur most common meal is this Chicken Bake I found online. Michael has ciliac so his options are very limited.
Place chicken breasts in glass baking dish. COVER with tons of BBQ sauce and then Ranch Dressing. Cover with cheese and tons of cooked and crumbled bacon!! Bake at about 400 degrees for about an hour until done! It is yummy! We put it over rice and corn!
Those cheese crisps look divine! We only cook them in the microwave; not as gormet. Our common meal is chicken, baked potatoes, and broccoli. Then when we eat them as leftovers we the combo inside a sprouted totilla wrap. It sounds gross, but it is surpisingly tasty!
ReplyDeleteI lived off of cheese crisps growing up! though we usually cooked them in the microwave. Not as good. We don't eat them as much now. I'll have to try them on corn tortillas, looks tastey! The one thing we make most probably is spaghetti. When you use jarred sauce and add a little meat, it's so fast and easy.
ReplyDeleteThat is funny...because cheese crisps are DEFINITELY our most common meal!! We have them a few times a week...at least! They make a great snack too! They are even my son's favorite meal:) We have never tried grilling the side with the cheese, so we will have to try your way!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so yummy! Thanks for the recipe!
