Mexico!
We (Bryan, Tate, and I) went to Rocky Point this last weekend. It was amazing, not at all scary! I don't know what everyone is talking about being too afraid to travel there... but I felt safe there and that's saying something. Anyways, we had so much fun playing at the ocean for 3 days. We rented a jet ski on the first day and got to go riding out by the dolphins. They were swimming all around us and it was too cool! The second day we drove downtown and went shopping. We got a bunch of sombreros. The third day we rode a boat out to bird island where there is a colony of sea lions. We got to go snorkling with them. It was amazing! We will definitely want to repeat this vacation sometime.Sunday, June 5, 2011
In the Merry Month of May
this is what he was doing... He even had put his face and head in the running water. YUCK! I guess boys will be boys.
My sister Christina, her husband Joseph, and their two boys came to stay with us for a few days. It was awesome! Samuel got to meet his cousin Tyler who is only 3 months younger.
Tate tells me that he is already a scientist. He's ALWAYS performing experiments. Here he is trying to make electicity with water, a copper wire, and aluminum foil. Notice the gloves and goggles? He told me that he didn't want to get shocked or hurt.
Sam loves his toes. He plays with them constantly and even sticks them in his mouth sometimes.
Adorable!!! I love this picture of Sam.
I got a bike trailer for Mother's Day:) It is my newest favorite thing and we use it all the time. Samuel enjoys it. Tate prefers to ride his own bike which I'm glad about. It's less weight for me to pull and a great energy releaser for him.
We went shooting as a family in the Superstitions. It was only my second time shooting because I'm kind of terrified of guns. Anyways, I was proud of myself because I faced my fears and was the only one to hit a bullseye.
Playing in the dirt. Actually he was looking for cool rocks.
Bryan teaching Tate all he knows about shooting.
Sam and Bryan hanging out on the tailgate.
Our little family.

Sunday Afternoon :)
We have lots of fun together as you can see. My favorite picture is the one of the boys attacking Bryan.

Hike #2

One of Tate's New Year's goals this year is to go on a hike as a family every month. We ended up going to South Mtn. again this month, but we hiked a different trail than last month... so it seemed entirely different.

Canyon Lake
Bryan and the scouts in our ward camped at Canyon Lake last night and went boating this morning. Well one of the leaders in our ward left to go home early (and forgot that he had taken the keys to Bryan's truck with him). So Bryan drove back into town with another leader, retrieved his truck key... and took Tate and I back to Canyon Lake to play for a while and get the truck. Worked out great for us:) Tate and Bryan enjoyed swimming together and I enjoyed getting somewhat of a tan while taking pictures of them. I'm not a huge fan of just swimming in lake water (yuck). But give me a Jet Ski, and that's a different story. I'll be right out there in the water.

Family Vacation in Snowflake AZ
We're Home from a (much needed) four day vacation in Snowflake!!!
Some things I'll remember about this vacation are:
- On the drive up-Tate tested our knowledge of the solar system with questions like, "If it's out of this world, how can you see the moon", can you see the stars' shadow, and do the stars get their light from the moon or themselves".
- The generosity of Steve and Sharla for letting us come stay with them.
- The AMAZING meals that Sharla fed us (The home grown corn was divine).
- Hanging out with Bryan's cousins and their kids. When Tate first met Tysee, he said to her, "I wish that your name was BABE". (He is such a flirt). They played together much of the trip.
- Visiting the Snowflake temple and getting to do sealings with Bryan.
- Flips on the trampoline. I can't tell you how much I've missed that! Tate REALLY had a lot of fun on it as well.
- Reading and being LAZY while Tate took afternoon naps.
- Having a fire and watching everyone eat Smores. (I'm off sugar AGAIN)-ugh
- Renting a boat and attempting to fish at Canyon Lake-NO SUCCESS, but still plenty of fun.
- Riding horses as a family at Sunset.
- Watching Bryan ride Trixy (The newest horse who is only starting to be broken)-scary.
- Driving home while Tate BEGGED us to stay.
