Lots of Sewing

Thanks to Aunt Cheryl for the quilt fabric... I've been sewing like crazy trying to get this rag quilt finished before she left. And I did, BARELY. There is NO WAY that I would have ever attempted sewing an entire quilt in a day and a half, if it weren't for the fact that I didn't know how to sew the edges of the quilt and my only chances at finishing it were with her help.
So even though it was CRAZY, it was fun and I'm glad that I did it. Here's a close of of the material.
And here's Tate ENJOYING his new Cheryl Blankie. He was so happy to get to sleep with it tonight. I thought it was cute when Tate told me that now I'm an AWESOME MOM-because I MADE him a blanket. Oh, and he told Bryan that they should give me a prize for doing it...
So what did Tate do while I sewed? He stuck needles through the skin of his fingers. I had to laugh when he showed me his "cool trick", because I can totally remember doing this when I was a kid. Only I stuck one through each finger of my hand. I think that WEIRDNESS must run in the family!

Day 206-Pioneer or Paper Boy?

Either way he's ADORABLE!
I found the shirt and shoes at Good Will, and paid a total of $2.50. The KNICKERS were a simple pattern from JoAnne's, the SUSPENDERS were just sort of made up by me, and I found the HAT pattern HERE. Awww, the joy of SEWING!

Homemade Superman/Batman Cape

Tate's been wanting a Superman cape for a VERY LONG time. I found an awesome tutorial HERE, and thought I'd give it a try.
It turned out better than I expected, and Tate just adores it.
It has a velcro strip in the front so he can put it on himself.
Tate seriously thinks that he can fly and he's been having the time of his life.

Hot & Cold Packs

Tate LOVES crafts almost as much as I do! Yesterday he asked me if we could make some bean bags. So, we did. But, they aren't just the ordinary throw-bean bags. We made one filled with rice and the other filled with beans. Now he has his very own hot and cold packs.

Tate was thrilled with his first sewing project! I had fun too

Crayon Cozies

IF YOU'RE FAMILY-CLOSE YOUR EYES AND STOP READING!!! j/k
It's not even Thanksgiving yet, & I'm totally thinking about Christmas...
We're going to TRY to do HOMEMADE GIFTS this year because they are inexpensive and they are usually the BEST gifts anyway!

So today I got all CRAFTY and decided to make some cute crayon cozies. I got together with my Mom while Tate was at Preschool, and we just sewed away! My Mother is a FABULOUS SEAMSTRESS and I always learn a ton when I sew with her.

We only got one made-but I think that it turned out pretty cute! Click
HERE for the tutorial.

I couldn't wait till after Christmas to show this. Just thought I'd share the idea incase anyone else wanted to make these.
