Well, I'm happy to say that we SURVIVED soccer camp. All in all-Tate actually had a great time. They ended up switching the time for the camp. Originally, it was from 4-5:30 PM, and they changed it to 6-7:30 PM (which was slightly more bearable). I don't think that I could have handled it very well if they hadn't changed the time.

Lots of Sewing

Day 211-Mint Tea for Grandma
Grandma has been in the hospital for the last several days. She had a shoulder surgery performed that should have just been an outpatient ordeal-but ended up being a very TRAMATIC experience that put her in ICU. She is FINALLY back home and doing much better:) It's good to have her back. Tate was happy to pick some mint and bring it to her tonight.
Day 210-New "Cheryl Blankie"
Isn't this fabric so cute? I LOVE how bright and colorful it is... The top fabric has pictures of BOYS and baptism, primary, getting married in the temple, reading the Book of Mormon, etc. Aunt Cheryl gave it to us yesterday for Tate's new "Cheryl Blankie". I guess I need to get sewing it! I'll show it when I'm done...

Day 209-Soccer Camp
Tate was quite a little character out on the field, and very entertaining to watch... He would either be sitting on his ball with his head in his hands, laying down on the field, or running around (not having a clue as to where he was going)-chasing the kids around saying "I tag you". My favorite was when he picked the soccer ball up with his HANDS and said proudly, "I got it first!"

Day 207-Fun Stuff
Today was a BUSY day. We woke up early to go to our Stake's Pioneer Celebration (which included a pioneer parade for all the Primary kids, breakfast, pioneer games, and activities).
This afternoon I went to my ALMOST sister-in-law Julie's bridal shower. It was super fun with lots of cools games... Julie's so cute-I can't wait for the big WEDDING day (August 14)!!!

And... this evening we went to the mattress store and bought us the firmest mattress ever made-YEAH! We'll see how I sleep tonight:)

Day 206-Pioneer or Paper Boy?
Either way he's ADORABLE!
I found the shirt and shoes at Good Will, and paid a total of $2.50. The KNICKERS were a simple pattern from JoAnne's, the SUSPENDERS were just sort of made up by me, and I found the HAT pattern HERE. Awww, the joy of SEWING!

Day 205-Milky Mess
I told Tate that he COULDN'T have any juice... He was mad and went to get it himself. When he did, he accidentally knocked out an unopened gallon of milk and it splattered EVERYWHERE (up to 12 feet high on the walls, on cupboards, counters, but mostly underneath the dishwasher). I think that the SHOCK alone of watching this happen was consequence ENOUGH for him... You should have seen his face. He felt pretty bad!

Days 202 & 203-Two VERY Opposite Days
And now for some TOTALLY exciting news (that has completely made my day)... Drum Roll Please... We (Bryan, Tate, and I) are going on an eight day Mexican Riviera cruise (in October), and I don't think that I could be more excited about it. WOO HOO!!!

Day 193-Two Hundred & Twenty Pictures!
Bryan took Tate to work with him yesterday (a pool that he's building in Chandler)... To entertain Tate while he worked, Bryan let Tate use his camera. It must have been VERY entertaining because we got 220 pictures (of only two different scenes) on Bryan's camera. The only differences in the pictures are the people going back and forth.

Day 190-Who Likes SODA Anyways?
Day 189-Almost Like Siblings...
For me-hearing Tate telling Autumn what not to do just plain cracked me up, and then the fact that he couldn't understand why she wouldn't do EVERYTHING he said... Too Funny! It gave me an idea of how it would be if he had a sibling. Although I'm sure that if I had to put up with this all day long-I may not find quite as much humor in it!

Day 188-Extended Birthday Celebrations
We got to celebrate Bryan's birthday again (with his family this time) tonight. Here's Bryan (and mostly Tate) blowing out the candles. It was a fun evening...

Day 187-Grandma Bloomfield's Silky Hair & Sunday Update
{Since Grandma Bloomfield lives right next door, we get to see her a lot more often-which is completely awesome! Tate enjoys feeling her hair. He always tells her that it feels just like SILK. I know that I'm cheating... I took this picture tonight-Monday night, not Sunday.}
Bryan and I got a calling (about a month ago) to teach in the Primary (ages 6 & 7) in our new ward. We are really enjoying being team teachers. My very favorite part about being in the Primary again is watching Tate in Sharing Time/Singing Time. I like that he isn't in our class, but I get to watch him sing and listen to all of the funny things he says in Primary. I'm realizing that NOTHING is a secret in our family any more. Tate makes sure and tells EVERYONE (the entire primary) when we forget to read family scriptures, etc. Oops...
Here's a cute little recording of Tate singing and trying to do the sign language that he is learned in Singing Time. He's singing the song called I'll Seek The Lord Early.

Day 186-Bryan is Officially 30
Bryan had a birthday over the weekend (on the 4th of July). He turned 30 years old-crazy huh? We didn't do much-we went to Red Robin for lunch and then had a simple little family party with cake and presents (and we went to see some fireworks), but it was fun and out of the ordinary for us. For as many years back as I can remember we've always done a HUGE swim party with LOTS of family... So it was kind of nice to do something small this year (at least for me).
Day 185-Stubborn Boys Get Their Hair Buzzed Off!
I have been having the most DIFFICULT time with Tate and his insistence on doing his OWN hair. This is how he has been doing it:
Thursday when Tate did his hair like this AGAIN, I decided that the best thing to do would be to BUZZ his hair off. Trust me, it looks much better!
- Wets his hair in the sink
- Slicks it down with a comb as much as possible
- Parts in on the side opposite of his cowlick
- Gives himself bangs that go straight down
- Comes to me so excited that he did his own hair

Day 184-Whole Wheat Blender Pancakes
These pancakes will fool you. Yes, they are made out of 100% WHOLE WHEAT, but they are just as light as can be and GOOD-really good!!! You can get the recipe (that I posted a while ago) HERE.
*Something awesome about this recipe is that you don't have to have a wheat grinder to make them. All you need is a good working blender, and you just stick the kernels in whole...

Day 183-The Question Jar
I'd say that today was just a NORMAL day in our household. Normal as in Tate asking a bazillion questions ALL day long! Since he asks such interesting questions (full of character and cuteness) I decided to start filling a jar with all of them. I've been doing this for close to a year now (the jar is nearly FULL) and it's been so much fun going back and reading them all.
Some examples are:
- "What happens to the writing on an etch-a-sketch when you erase it?"
- "Is a mushroom fungus? Did someone grow it on their feet and pick it off?"
- Bryan was saying "Super-Cali-Fragil-Istic-Expi-Ali-Docious". Tate asked, "What does that mean in Spanish?"
I'm so glad that I've written Tate's questions down because (with my memory), I'm sure I would have only remembered one or two, and in my opinion... they are just too cute to be forgotten.
