We've been trying to follow the prophet's council and have family scripture study every day. Well, guess what? It's finally paid off! We finished the Book of Mormon this week.
Every family's scripture study routine is a little bit different. Here is how we do ours... Typically, we have scriptures and prayers in the morning before Bryan leaves for work. We sit up at the kitchen table to avoid the whole falling asleep thing. I bought us each a hard cover Book of Mormon with a bookmark, (that we keep all together in a specific place not to far from the table) so that helps us with not wondering where our scriptures are or not knowing which chapter we are reading from. We start out with a hymn (we keep the hymn books with the Book of Mormons) and then a prayer. We each take turns reading, and Tate just repeats after us. Then we recite the Family Proclamation (as far as we've memorized). And then we close with our family prayer. It's short and simple, yet it feels good.
